Our Mission
In 2032, the United States experienced catastrophic infrastructure failures that claimed 203 million lives and brought civilization to the brink of extinction. In the chaos that followed, The Authority formed from a coalition of corporations with surviving resources, pooling infrastructure and expertise to save what remained.
25 years later, we continue that mission:
- Providing essential services (power, water, security) to 137 million citizens
- Maintaining 15 protected zones where civilization can recover and thrive
- Protecting populations from Belt region hazards through regulated travel
- Building economic opportunity and stability for future generations
- Preserving knowledge and culture from pre-Collapse America
"We are not perfect. We make mistakes. But we saved civilization when government failed. We protect 137 million people every single day. That is our legacy, our responsibility, and our commitment."
— Authority Director General, 2057 State of the Union
